Labor Shortage Impact on our Pool

As we move into the final weeks of summer, American Pool has notified us that the nationwide labor shortage and students going back to school may impact the availability of life guards at the pool:

As you know, we are all still feeling the repercussions from our year and a half pandemic crisis. While we continue to train and place new guards, we are also experiencing a large number of guards leaving our employment due to local sports, early school starting times, many attending college or university early, having to quarantine prior to arrival and all this on top of the already devastating national labor shortage.

For the safety of everyone who uses the pool we must ensure we have sufficient staffing at all times. While this is not an immediate issue at North Crossing, we do want to inform our residents that the pool may need to close early if this does become an issue. We will continue to work closely with American Pool to monitor the staffing situation and will keep you update should anything change or impact the pool’s availability.
